"I am sad to say that McGee Roofing earned a one star review from me. 2022: My troubles started about a year ago when I called this company to cut down a storm damaged tree. They had Bob Kitt working for them at the time, did the work but accidentally dropped a limb onto the corner of my house and damaged my gutter and downspout. Bob told me he repaired the gutter but when I got onto my roof about 6-9 months, later to clean my gutters, I found that the gutter was not repaired and was not allowing water to run down the downspout. This caused water and debris to accumulate in the middle span section of my gutter and caused it to disconnect from my facia board. I repaired this middle section of gutter myself but was not able to reach the still damaged gutter and downspout damaged by Bob Kitt of McGee Roofing. I understand accidents happen and to McGee's Roofing's credit, their estimator, Frank McGee, said they would repair the damaged downspout and gutter for free while they did some other storm related damage to my roof. April 24: Unfortunately, this is where my second round of troubles came about. I called McGee's roofing on April 24th to have them repair my roof due to storm damages. They said they will send an estimator out asap but said it would be a few weeks due to the storm that damaged a large section of their serviced area. May 8th: I didn't hear back from them by May 8th, so I called back to inquire about a time frame. The lady I spoke with said she will talk to their inspectors and call me back with a time frame. Cool, no problem I thought to myself. Everyone's busy, I get it. May 9th: Frank McGee calls and schedules an inspection and swings by my house that afternoon. Said he found the damaged areas and also some other issues. Said he will get an estimate to me soon, but that he will be out on vacation for 2 weeks so another estimator will get me the estimate by the end of the week. Cool, sounds, great I thought. Thank you for coming out relatively quickly I said. May 18th: About 2 weeks pass so I call to inquire about the estimate. Receptionist said she will look into it and have them call me. No one ever calls me back. June 5th: Another few weeks pass so I call again about the estimate, to which I receive the same response as above. No one ever calls me back. June 12th: I call again to ask about the estimate and get the same answer as before. June 13: I get a phone call back from Frank who apologizes for the late estimate and said someone else was suppose to get it to me. I receive the estimate today and sign the contract to begin work. I asked Frank for a rough time frame and he said 2 weeks. Sept 8: Between now and June 13, I called about every 2-4 weeks asking for a time frame on the schedule but I receive the same reply. "I will check with the scheduler and get back with you." But I never get a phone call back. I even ran into their inspector, Frank at Walmart 2 weeks ago and asked about my project. He had forgotten who I was and apologized and said he will get my project done asap. I understand being busy and short staffed! I'm not even upset about how long I've been waiting to get my roof repaired. I expected the process to take a few months if not longer. But it has been 5 months since the initial phone call and I didn't even have a date or time frame on their schedule. I used the word "didn't" because today I went to their office and canceled my contract for the project. To their credit, they offered to repair the gutter for free still, but I'll have to repair myself as it'll never get done otherwise. All I wanted was a phone call with a time frame. 2 weeks? 2 months? 1 year? I didn't care how long I was going to have to wait, I just wanted to know it was actually going to get fixed at some point. I don't believe I was ever placed on the schedule. I'm not even sure if they have a schedule. This company has good reviews and has been around for a long time. I sincerely hope that they can get their mess fixed so that we can support a local business opposed to having to hire out-of-town."
"I hired McGees to cut down a very large ash tree next to my home. Brandin did a great job. Very professional and courteous. A Very hard worker. I would recommend Mcgees to family and friends."
